Betty Lou Tannahill, age 62, of Arapahoe, Nebraska passed away on Sunday, April 13, 2014 at her home. She was born on May 19, 1951 at Topeka, Kansas to Robert & Ruby (Berry) Gifford.
She grew up at Havensville, Kansas and worked at the family dairy farm. She moved to Nebraska and attended college getting her degree in Nursing and became an LPN. She moved to Reno, Nevada and worked in a Nursing Home for a few years. She would then have to move back to Kansas to help take care of her grandmother. Later she would move to Arapahoe, Nebraska to be closer to family. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Elwood, Nebraska. She loved hunting, fishing, gardening, and taking care of animals of all shape and sizes, along with doing all kinds of carpentry work. Her love of life and work inspired everyone she knew.
She was preceded in death by her father, brother John Ira Tannahill, Step-Father Robert Gary Tannahill.
She is survived by son: Terry and wife Donna Tannahill of Arapahoe, Nebraska
Mother: Ruby Gifford of Arapahoe, Nebraska
Brothers: Martin & wife Melissa Gifford of Enterprise, Kansas
Roudy & wife Katrina Gifford of Miami, Florida
Sisters: Roberta & husband Roger Randle of Havensville, Kansas
Barbara & husband David Hicks of Salina, Kansas
Linda Tannahill of Buzzards Bay, Massachusetts
Grandchildren: Nick & wife Sheila DeOss of Kearney, Nebraska
Mallory & husband William Dunn of Loomis, Nebraska
Great-Grandchildren: William & Evan DeOss, Matthew & Makaden Dunn
And many nieces and nephews.

There will be no viewing or visitation as Betty chose cremation. Memorial services will be Wednesday, April 16, 2014 at 10:30 AM at United Methodist Church, in Elwood, Nebraska with Rev. Mary Fuller, officiating. Private family inurnment will be at a later date. Elwood Funeral Home of Elwood, Nebraska is in charge of the arrangements.
