Betty J. Wonderly, age 75, of Elwood, Nebraska passed away on Sunday, February 9, 2014 at Plum Creek Care Center in Lexington, Nebraska. She was born on August 17, 1938 at Trenton, Nebraska to Wesley I. & Edna (Frakes) Fuqua.

She graduated from Imperial High School in Imperial, Nebraska with the Class of 1956. She married Edward Wonderly on May 8, 1956 at Imperial. They lived in Lexington, Nebraska for a short time before moving to Elwood, Nebraska. Betty worked for many years with the Elwood Bulletin Newspaper and then later at the Elwood Care Center before retiring. She enjoyed knitting & crocheting, and especially loved her cats and dogs. She was a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church of Elwood.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Edward, brother Harry Fuqua.

She is survived by sisters: Mary Ann Schnacker of Lexington, Nebraska

There will be no viewing or visitation. Graveside services will be Friday, February 14, 2014 at 11 AM at Elwood Cemetery, in Elwood, Nebraska with Rev. Michael Wolff, officiating. Memorials are suggested to the Elwood Veterinary Clinic or Our Redeemer Lutheran Church of Elwood. Elwood Funeral Home of Elwood, Nebraska is in charge of the arrangements.
