DeLilah Georgene Monter, age 81, of Elwood, Nebraska, passed away on Saturday, February 9, 2013 at Lexington Regional Health Center in Lexington, Nebraska. She was born January 17, 1932, in Gosper County, Nebraska to Theodore and Hilda (Riepe) Reese.
She was baptized February 7, 1932 and confirmed December 2, 1945 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Arapahoe, Nebraska. Her confirmation verse was John 6:68. She attended rural school during grades 1st thru 8th, south of Arapahoe and graduated from Arapahoe High School with the class of 1949 and then attended McCook Community College. After teaching for five years, she married Glen H. Monter on June 12, 1955 at Trinity Lutheran Church. This union was blessed with four children, Shirley Jean, Douglas Leon, Charles John, and Dennis Eugene.
DeLilah was a loving wife and mother, who also served the Lord, church, and community with passionate devotion. She served at many capacities in her church, including a beloved organist and involved in the LWML at both local and district levels. She was active member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary, holding offices at local and district levels. She was involved in the community with many organizations and cherished all the friendships made throughout the scores of activities she enjoyed.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Hilda (1939) and Ted (1979), and son Dennis (2010).
She is survived by her devoted husband Glen Monter of Elwood, Nebraska

Sister: Clara Belle Tapparo and husband Johnnie of Thornton, Colorado

Sister-In-Law: Iva Fritz of McCook, Nebraska
11 grandchildren: Jamus Thayn, Erika Pierson, Allyson McCurry and husband Jordan, Jenna Monter and fiancé’ Travis Atwood, Emilie Monter, Erin Monter and Tyson Bullis, Joel Monter, LaTisha Morse and husband Jerad, Samantha Monter, Tabitha Monter, and Miranda Monter
4 great-grandchildren and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

Viewing and visitation will be Wednesday, February 13, 2013 from 10 AM till 8 PM with family being present from 5 PM till 7 PM at Elwood Funeral Home in Elwood, Nebraska and prior to the service at the church. Funeral services will be Thursday, February 14, 2013 at 10 AM at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Elwood, Nebraska with Pastors David Dobbertien and James Moshier, officiating. Interment will be at the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery, Elwood, Nebraska. Elwood Funeral Home of Elwood, Nebraska is in charge of the arrangements.
