Lonny Lee Fong, age 59, of Elwood, Nebraska, passed away on Tuesday, October 29, 2013 at his home. He was born June 26, 1954, at Elwood, Nebraska to Billie D. and Helen (Pfeiffer) Fong.
He was baptized and confirmed at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Elwood. Lonny attended Elwood Elementary and High School and graduated with the Class of 1972. He was an accomplished wrestler and earned the opportunity to participate in the state tournament. Over the years he would work for many area farmers and ranchers in the Sandhills, helping with cattle and farming jobs. He especially enjoyed horses, rodeos and team roping with his son Shad. Lonny was a member of the Elwood Rodeo Club and Our Redeemer Lutheran Church of Elwood.
He is preceded in death by his parents, and son Shad Fong

Lacey Rajdl & husband Cody of Broken Bow, Nebraska
Brother: Brad Fong and wife Sharon of Woodbury, Minnesota
Kurt Fong and wife Laurie of Detroit Lakes, Minnesota
Sister: Sheila Fong & husband Paul Stenberg of Naperville, Illinois
Nephews: Derek Fong of Woodbury, Minnesota
Nathan Fong & wife Amanda and daughter Madeline of Woodbury, Minnesota
Daughter-in-law: Brenna Fong of Gordon, Nebraska
3 grandchildren: Joscelynne, Austen, & Jaysen Cronin

There will be no viewing or visitation as cremation was chosen. Memorial services will be Saturday, November 9, 2013 at 10 AM at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Elwood, Nebraska. Private family inurnment will be at Elwood Cemetery, Elwood, Nebraska. Elwood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
