Lucille E. Kipp, age 80, of Cozad, Nebraska, formerly of Bertrand, Nebraska passed away on Sunday, December 23, 2012 at Golden Living Center in Cozad, Nebraska.  She was born February 4, 1932, southwest of Maywood, Nebraska to William and Ethel (Lockhart) Kahler, the first of four children: Lucille, Don, Louise and Gary.

Lucille attended grade school in Smithfield, Nebraska and High School in Bertrand.  On April 30, 1953, she was united in marriage to Neil Kipp of Edison, Nebraska.  They made their home first in Bertrand and then moved to Elsie, Nebraska, and then back to Bertrand.  They were blessed with two children, Eugene and Christine.  Neil passed away on July 15, 1977.  Lucille worked at different nursing homes over the years.  She enjoyed taking care of the elderly and treating them like they were family. She also enjoyed embroidering until her health would not let her anymore.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Neil Kipp, and brother Gary Kahler.
Survivors include her Son: Eugene Kipp, Bertrand, Nebraska

Daughter: Christine & husband John Delp of Smithfield, Nebraska  

Brother: Don Kahler of Omaha, Nebraska

Sister: Louise & husband Rodney Derr of Corpus Christi, Texas

Sister-in-law: Peggy Kahler of Arapahoe, Nebraska               

      4 grandchildren   &  8 great-grandchildren

There will be no viewing or visitation as Lucille chose cremation. Memorial services will be Sunday, December 30, 2012 at 2 PM at the First United Methodist Church in Elwood, Nebraska with Pastors Darrel Wissmann and Bonnie Brock. Inurnment will be at a later date. Memorials are to go to the Bertrand Rescue Unit or the Elwood Rescue Unit. Elwood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
