Ronald Dean Smith, age 52, of Elwood, Nebraska died on Thursday, December 9, 2010 at Elwood, Nebraska. He was born May 12, 1958 at Holdrege, Nebraska to Robert C. & Janice M. (Benton) Smith.

Ron grew up in the Omaha, Nebraska area. He spent much of his life being of service to everyone he came in contact with. Helping and assisting in any possible way that he could. He worked various jobs during his life for Stan Medaris Tree Service, Wal-Mart, & for Brad Thornburg of Smithfield, Nebraska. On June 14, 1996 he married Debra R. Carpenter at Lexington, Nebraska and made their home in Elwood, Nebraska. He enjoyed spending time fishing, playing cards, and being with his children.

He is preceded in death by his father, step-father Don Duey, & mother-in-law Sally Carpenter.

He is survived by his wife Debra Smith of Elwood, Nebraska
