Albert Lanny Wonderly

Albert Lanny Wonderly, age 80, of Elwood Nebraska passed away on Thursday, March 1, 2018 at C.A. Mues Good Samaritan Center in Arapahoe, Nebraska. Lanny was born on April 14, 1937 in Imperial, Nebraska to the Ellsworth and Hazel (Ellis) Wonderly. He grew up with many siblings. On April 13, 1956 joined the U.S. Air Force and served until April 12, 1960. While serving he met his wife Anita. They had 4 daughters; Glenda, Cindy, Bonnie, and Deanna Sue. They settled in Colorado where Lanny worked with the City of Denver, a bottling company and retired from Sundstrand Company. Lanny and Anita later divorced. Lanny loved his family, music, and played guitar, harmonica, and the keyboard. His hobbies were hunting and fishing. He moved to Elwood during his retirement years to relax and fish at the Elwood Reservoir and Johnson Lake. He also worked for the Elwood Public School and City of Elwood to keep busy. He is preceded in death by, his parents Ellsworth and Hazel. Brothers Virgil, Charles (Rex), Ellsworth Jr. (Red), Donald, Edward and James. Sisters Lela, Doris and Lois. Daughter, Deanna Sue (Wonderly) Palmer. He is survived by daughters: Glenda (Wonderly) Montez, Cindy (Wonderly) Bigger and Bonnie Wonderly. 12 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren A special thank you to Elwood Care Center and C.A. Mues Good Samaritan Center for their care. There will be no viewing or visitation. Memorial services will be Wednesday, March 7, 2018 at 2 PM at Elwood Funeral Home, Elwood, Nebraska with Pastor Phyllis Dunlop, officiating. Inurnment will be at the Elwood Cemetery, Elwood, Nebraska with military rites. Elwood Funeral Home, of Elwood, Nebraska is in charge of the arrangements.
