Eugene L. Kipp, age 62, of Bertrand, Nebraska passed away Wednesday, October 19, 2016, at CHI Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney, Nebraska. He was born January 20, 1954, to Neil and Lucille E. (Kahler) Kipp. Eugene grew up in Bertrand and graduated from Bertrand High School with the class of 1973. He married Virginia Ditson in 1978, and to this union three children were born; Cody, Cord, & Cari. He had a lifelong passion for hunting, fishing, and animals. Spending quality time with his grandkids always put a smile on his face. Eugene was always the jokester and got great pleasure out of giving people “a hard time”. His fondest memories were of spending time teaching his children how to be hard workers and always to take care of the land and resources. He had a great love of animals and especially loved working with cattle, horses, and dogs. He is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his Sons: Cody & wife Laura Kipp and their children Ethan, Elisa, and Eve of Sargent, Nebraska Cord & wife Jasmine Kipp and their children Baylee, and Gavyn of Bertrand, Nebraska Daughter: Cari & husband Justin Geiken of Gothenburg, Nebraska A host of cousins, friends, and one sister Condolences and personal reflections may be left at elwoodfuneralhome.com. Eugene chose cremation, so there will be no viewing or visitation. Memorial service will be Saturday, October 22, 2016 at 2 PM at United Methodist Church in Bertrand, Nebraska with Pastors Bonnie Brock and Darrel Wissmann, officiating. Inurnment will be at the Highland Cemetery, Bertrand, Nebraska. Memorials are suggested to the Bertrand Volunteer Fire Department. Elwood Funeral Home of Elwood, Nebraska is in charge of the arrangements.
