Linda Sue Rath, age 71, of Elwood, Nebraska passed away on Tuesday, June 11, 2024 at Phelps Memorial
Hospital, Holdrege, Nebraska. She was born on February 1, 1953 in Lexington, Nebraska to Robert and Leona
(Brown) Ottman.
She grew up in Lexington and graduated from Lexington High School with class of 1971. She married Steven
Rath on July 18, 1973. To this union, two sons were born; Nathan 10/31/1975 and Christopher 7/9/1977. They
would move to Elwood, Nebraska in November of 1982, she would work at the Bertrand Nursing Home, Elwood
Care Center, Elwood Market, and the Green Lantern Cafe in Elwood.
She enjoyed playing bingo, going to garage sales with her friends, maintaining flowers in the front yard. She spent
time drinking coffee with friends at West's Drive In and going to casinos to play slot machines. She spent time
with family in the Black Hills and enjoyed seeing her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband Steve Rath, sons Nathan and Christopher, sisters Nita Worthen Diana Lindskov,
brother-in-law David Worthen, Dwight Lindskov In-laws Donna Rath, Michael Rath, Amanda Rath, Tim Smith,
Nieces and Nephews - Mary Rath, Briana Rath, Greg Smith (Becky), Amanda Hollida (Steven), Matthew
Smith(Laura), Jordan Coll, Jasmine Linscott, Jeremy Rath, Jennifer Rath, Sidney, Hunter, Abigail Rath, Angela
Kuhlman (Mike), Jennifer Iverson(David). Grandkids, Jackson Rath, Shayla Foster, Canon Rath, Sabree Rath,
Aryan Rath, great nieces and nephews great grandkids Kobyn Foster, Karson Foster. Also survived by family
Cyndi Horn (mother of Shayla and Canon Rath), Christi Rath (mother of Jackson Rath).
Preceded in death by her parents Robert and Leona Ottman, in-laws Hugh and Dolores Rath, Sister In Laws,
Deborah Smith, Beverly Dyke and brother in law Everett Dyke, brother-in-law Ronald Rath, Eileen Rath (wife
of Hugh Rath).
There will be no viewing or visitation. Memorial service will be Thursday, June 20, 2024 at 10:30 AM at the
Elwood Christian Church, with Pastor Murray Jones, officiating. Inurnment will follow at Elwood Cemetery,
Elwood, Nebraska. Memorials are suggested to the Elwood Fire Department. Elwood Funeral Home is in charge
of the arrangements.
