Lloydelle Bellamy

d. December 6, 2023

Lloydelle Bellamy, age 85, of Elwood, Nebraska passed away on Wednesday, December 6, 2023, at Lexington Regional Hospital, Lexington, Nebraska. Lloydelle was cherished as Joe's wife, the loving mother of Randy, Brian, and Kevin, and affectionately known as Grandma 'Delle to many. She was extremely devoted to family and friends and maintained many friendships from high school and kept up with all her siblings and cousins. She loved and was very proud of her three boys, 9 grandkids, 22 great-grandkids, and Marie (a foreign exchange student who lived with them). She loved to talk about all of them. Lloydelle was born on April 29th, 1938. She lived her life to the fullest. She grew up in a log house outside of Curtis, Nebraska. She married Joe Bellamy on September 10th, 1954, in Eustis Nebraska, but spent most of her life in Elwood where she and Joe built their custom, German-style home. They worked hard to build up their aerial spraying business, family farm as well as many other ventures. Lloydelle was never idle for long, she could often be found supporting her family, the church, and community. Her car was a familiar sight on the roads, constantly ferrying people and items including kolaches, donuts, and pies, a testament to her generous spirit. In her home, her talents in baking, canning, sewing, and crocheting were lovingly employed to enrich the lives of others. Although she may have slowed slightly in more recent years, her friend Mary’s support enabled her to remain on the go. Lloydelle also shared about Jesus and was an example of how to love even when it’s hard, how to forgive, how to really live and know there is always hope. She believed in second chances, because she knew we all need them from time to time. She told those around her she loved them, but more than that she showed them through meals cooked, houses cleaned, walls painted, gifts given, time spent, prayers prayed. She was the hands and feet of Christ, and we know He said, “Well done, good and faithful servant”. Lloydelle is at peace now because she believed in Jesus. Our grief is not for her, as she lived a life full of love, but for ourselves and the void her departure has left behind. Lloydelle is survived by her sons Randy and wife Susan Bellamy, Brian and wife Shelly Bellamy, Kevin and wife Cheri Bellamy, 9 grandkids, 22 great-grandkids. Preceded in death by Joe Bellamy, great granddaughter Leah Bellamy, sister Kay Wilson, brother Ronnie Scharf, and Mother Dorothy Nielsen. Viewing and visitation will be Sunday, December 10, 2023, from 2 PM till 4 PM at Elwood Funeral Home, Elwood, Nebraska. Funeral services will be Monday, December 11, 2023, at 1 PM at Parkview Baptist Church, Lexington, Nebraska with Pastor Keith Strasburger, officiating. Burial will follow at Elwood Cemetery, Elwood, Nebraska. Elwood Funeral Home, Elwood, Nebraska is in charge of the arrangements.
